Sussex 1000 was a challenge I set myself after being inspired to ‘stay local’. On Saturday Sept 11th 2021 I set off from a small village called Hammer and cycled 1000 miles over 20 days finishing at Camber on Thursday Sept 30th. I passed through every city, town and village in the county without crossing the border or travelling the same road more than once. I camped each night and averaged 50 miles cycling a day with 2 large panniers. I stopped off at each of the Cadence cycling hubs along my route, where I was plied with their signature toasties and delicious coffee.

WOLO FOUNDATION

I raised £1578 for the brilliant charity Wolo who help families across Sussex affected by cancer. They were a tremendous support and inspiration to me so and I’m hugely grateful to everyone who helped me beat my fundraising target of £1/mile. THANK YOU!
