From Steve Blackbourn:

LRRA 15m TTT May 11th. Entries need to be in for this event now if you are thinking of entering. It is a two-up time trial on our Revesby course.

Lincoln Wheelers Charity 10mile TT May 17th Saturday 3pm start. I will be riding out to this event from Woodhall Spa if anyone would like to join me, it's about 30 miles there, race the 10 then 30 miles home to Woodhall Spa. There are two reasons for riding this event, it's a very good weekend ride starting on a Saturday afternoon and it is also the same 10 course that the LRRA use for their 10 in August so a good chance to get to know the roads. The last thing on my mind is doing a fast 10 time so the pressure is off, if you have a desire to win something then buy some of the raffle prizes that are available on the day, last year I did and won a prize !! Come and get a good weekend training ride in with a blast in the middle !

LRRA has Short and Long distance awards for riders completing four different events, the events are;

Short Distance Best All Rounder :

LRRA 25m TT 'MM' April 20th [or the other 25mile event which is],

LRRA 25m TT Champs June 15th [only one 25m result is required].

LRRA 50m TT June 28th

LRRA 10mTT August 30th

LRRA 30m TT September 7th

So that is a result from the 10, 25, 30 and 50 mile TT's, okay I can hear some of you say that 50 miles is not a short distance but we all manage that on our monthly club rides, just ask for an early start time on your entry form and you will be finishing the same time as the fast riders who start last !!

Long Distance Best All Rounder :

LRRA 25m TT 'MM' April 20th or the,

LRRA 25m TT Champs June 15th

LRRA 50m TT june 28th

100 mile TT

12 Hour TT

Any 100 or 12 Hour event can be used, you just need to let the LRRA know which events you are riding and give them a copy of your CTT entry form. Full details will be availabe at the first LRRA event which is the 25m Middlemarkers on April 20th.

So that is a 25, 50, 100 and 12 hour event.

Just remember to ride with a spare tube, tyre lever and pump because you need a result from four events to qualify and it is better to finish with an extra 5 minutes on your time than a DNF as your result !!

From Steve Blackbourn:

I would encourage Yello Velo riders to ride the LRRA events this year as they give purpose to the racing year as well as gaining points for your club !! You can aim to complete the diferent distance events which result in LRRA certificates being awarded, the Short distance includes the 10, 25, 30 and 50 mile events and the Senior best all rounder includes the 25, 50, 100 and 12 hour events.

There is also a LRRA 2 up event which is on our local Revesby course on May 11th.

There is a Presentation night organised by Sleaford Wheelers which is a very good night of cycling with good food and gives encouragement for the coming racing year, I hope to see several Yello Velo members at the next one collecting their awards !!
