Marin Winter Series 2008/09
I am really looking forward to this years winter series.
My first winter series was in 2006 and I had just started getting into
biking. This was my first race and I was a little nervous but the
organisation was brilliant and the other competitors were friendly which put
me at ease. I will never forget my first race as I enjoyed it that much,
ever since then I cant wait for the cold weather to come!

Bicyclemania Report from Darren ...
Registration was very well organised and a simple affair just sign in, tie on your number to the bike & get to the start line on time.
The route this year on the whole was the same course as last year so you knew what was coming, or we though we did, the ground was pretty firm going with just the odd slippery & muddy bits in the off/road sections so it made for delicate biking skills. The weather warm and sunny, a first for Bicyclemania, helped give some fast times. The views on the course were glorious, "No Mud Bath to speak of"! As last year the route took in some of Lincolnshire's bridle paths, byways, woodland tracks, sharp up-hills, small down-hills, edge of fields & country lanes. "A total of 117 riders had a bash at the 63km route" one great turn out....again.
Everyone seemed to be in good spirits for the event the route was well signed and marshalled too, the feed stations were well stocked with water & juice, chocolate & bananas. A big thanks must go out to all involved in the making this a great Lincolnshire event.
Results for Team Yello Velo were as follows:
13th Darren Smith 3.19:28 34th Robin Van Der Heyden 3.36:20 62nd David Killick 4.11:15
