Just to let anyone interested in mountain biking know that today Sunday 4th
January 10 Yello Velo members went out on a Wolds Mountain Bike Run.
Although the day was very cold Scott King and Darren Smith led 10 members
(Jake and Richard Clare, Tim Kingswood, James Tyson, Simon Wilson, Darron
Brewster, Carl and Dan (Sorry can't remember their surnames)out for a off
road ride in the Wolds.
Before the off there was many complaints about feeling cold but less than 10
minutes into the ride and the first hill everyone was more than warmed up.
Today we got a little lost, had 5 punctures and 4 not paying enough
attention fall offs (3 of which performed perfectly by Tim) who coincidently
provided the majority of the laughter for the ride. I personally could not
decide what hurt more, my legs from riding or my belly from laughing!
We only rode about 20 miles or so and the ride ended 1hour 30mins longer
than expected but it was a great change from the road.
The ride was catered for every rider and I believe everyone enjoyed
themselves and would like to go again, so we will try to organise another
ride soon. If anyone else would like to give it a try please just let Scott
know.

Marin Winter Series 2008/09
I am really looking forward to this years winter series.
My first winter series was in 2006 and I had just started getting into
biking. This was my first race and I was a little nervous but the
organisation was brilliant and the other competitors were friendly which put
me at ease. I will never forget my first race as I enjoyed it that much,
ever since then I cant wait for the cold weather to come!
